Dr. Suzan Zuljani Wasik is a nationally certified professional counselor and educator. Her clinical experiences have ranged from working with families of pediatric cancer patients, to individuals experiencing career/life transitions and related existential crises, as well as personal and community leadership development. A common thread in her counseling experiences has been working with individuals and groups who want to take it to the next level despite their current circumstances.
Aside from her consulting practice, Dr. Wasik has also served as an Assistant Professor at Elon University and Guilford College in North Carolina. She has taught courses in the fields of counseling, psychology, human development, and leadership. Her current research and practice interests include investigating psychological, social, and spiritual links related to managing anxiety, women’s health issues, parenthood, career, as well as personal and professional leadership development.

Michele Kielty Briggs, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology at James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisonburg, VA. She earned a BA from James Madison University, a MA Ed. from Wake Forest University, and a Ph.D., from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is the 2007-2008 President of the Association of Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC), a division of the American Counseling Association and she has served as the President of the Virginia chapter of ASERVIC.
She received the 2005 Outstanding Junior Faculty Award in the College of Integrated Science and Technology as well as the 2007 Biggs-Pine Award for scholarly contribution to the Counseling & Values professional journal. Dr. Briggs is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Licensed School Counselor and she and has worked with families, children, adolescents, women in transition, and hospital/hospice populations. She is the co-founder of the Girls’ Leadership Experience Camp, housed at JMU.
She has written journal articles and book chapters on topics such as spirituality and crisis, spiritually-sensitive counseling, women and spirituality, motherhood and spirituality, group counseling, counseling children, and gender issues in counseling.
In addition to her traditional counseling training, Dr. Briggs has completed continuing education in mindfulness meditation, spiritual deepening practices, and integrative approaches to well-being. She lives with her husband, Andy, and her son, Benjamin, in Staunton, VA.
